This Grade II listed building in Cardigan has a small local civic trust interested in the building being kept in public ownership after recently being listed for sale. They are interested in potentially having the site be used as a literature and poetry centre with a bookshop, cafe as well. This is because Cardigan was the birthplace of the national Welsh festival, Eisteddfod, the largest cultural event in Europe! It was held for the first time at the Castle in 1176 and this project could be a point of interest and community for this historical connection.
Photos are from Glen Johnson, The Teifi Estuary History Man, and more details on the history of this building can be found here: Glen Johnson.
It is currently listed for sale by Morgan and Davies for £220,000 (Ref R/3035/RD) (Brochure).
