Mavisbank is a fine example of a Palladian villa in Scotland. The A-listed building is nowadays an unconsolidated ruin which The Mavisbank Trust has been trying to save since 2005. In partnership with the Landmark Trust and Historic Environment Scotland, the group has been putting efforts in bringing the building back into use with a holiday let proposal. In summer 2021, the Heritage Lottery fund announced that the grant application that had been submitted to redevelop the building was unsuccessful.
